bittersweet IN SUPPORT OF A DEMOCRATIC LIBYA (Σπ, επ) MEMORY

many years ago, more than twenty, I was in Libya, was on a visit organized by the SOC (Field Workers Union), in those days was a revolutionary democratic experiment could think could be interesting. I have to admit that I was quite disappointed because I could see clear progress, it seemed as tight, sad and very controlled. The Green Paper not clarify too. The news, which is decaffeinated, those delegations to Libya may be here.
Years have passed and now have DECIC Western powers intervene in solidarity with the "rebels" against the regime of Gaddafi. Bittersweet me the current situation. On the one hand Qadhafi decided, contrary to what happened in Tunisia and Egypt to crack down on protest movements. This, apparently without sufficient force to a mass democratic movement chose to make a resistance to the use of violence. Finally, after much hesitation, the UN adopted an intervention which immediately is implemented by France and USA , among others.
is to applaud the international powers that prevent the suppression of the resistance movement, but also frightening to see the fighters, who "looks happy" to show the world its destructive capacity. I wonder what think weapons manufacturers, as we finally see this as a guardian angel. Hope everything ends well.
But could have done differently? Sure, but probably should have used other tactics for years. Never too late to learn that nonviolent means are most effective.
